Washington sold out, never to be reprinted, until now. The combined memoir and biography focuses on the personal relationships of African American people with President Lincoln: those who served the Lincolns and those who shaped Lincoln’s view on slavery. Noted historian Kate Masur's introduction details author Washington’s life and the importance of life stories. Masur will discuss the book with journalist and founder of "The Race Card Project," Michele Norris.
