Thanks for your comments, Gene, and I agree with the comments that you made with the exception that I believe that the members of the Committee now understood President Lincoln's perspective on the importance of the subject matter which they were considering upon the actual Union war efforts.

But you must remember this: If you side with me, you are opposing virtually all eminent Lincoln scholars (Yes, including Roger) that have ever considered this subject matter.
