Yes, and while I would instantly understand a fruit juice creation or a newly cultivated kind of apple being named after Abraham Lincoln I just don't get why to name an alcoholic drink after him.
I have long considered whether to comment on this or not, but finally cannot hold back. Please understand that I neither mind nor mean to criticize anyone who however frequent enjoys whatever kind and amount of alcohol.

I don't know about the US, but in this country you very often have a hard time socializing when you don't join drinking alcohol - first of all beer...but also such as cocktails. Sadly the more the younger you are - a grade 10-13 or university student who doesn't join and brag off about weekend drinking sprees and it's side effects easily ends up the odd one out.

Thus I have always appreciated Abraham Lincoln's firmness on the matter, as the following incident illustrates (and apologize for repetition as I have posted it before):

When hearing that Lincoln only served "Adam's ale" (cold water) to the committee (headed by George Ashmun, on May 19, 1860) notifying him of his nomination as presidential candidate of the Republican Party, a journalist and temperance advocate inquired of Lincoln's temperance sentiments. In a letter, Lincoln stated: "Having kept house sixteen years, and having never held the 'cup' to the lips of my friends then, my judgment was that I should not, in my new position, change my habit in this respect."

At all, alcohol is a very sensitive topic, and one must be very sure the honor is appreciated instead of hurting feelings when linking someone likewise to it. I would feel totally misrepresented by a drink bearing my name and not honored, and IMO such doesn't represent nor honor Abraham Lincoln either whom I find a role model as for one can succeed without bowing to the social pressure. The only benefit I can see is on the selling side, and I find this an inappropriate abuse of his name. (However, I know he would have been more tolerant than I and have said: "I have endured a great deal of ridicule without much malice...I am used to it.")

Here are the song reminder and English lyrics:

PS: Mary did "enjoy" drinking, so I am fine with the First Lady Lincoln one even though I am not knowledgeable enough on the ingredients to understand the specific idea/symbol behind the composition - maybe someone can educate me on Germain elderflower liqueur, LaMarca prosecco, braeburn apple shrub, and BarKeep apple bitters? And what is Knob Creek bourbon? Thanks!

(PPS: If you want to honor me foodwise, please by a coffee or something fruity....or yoghurt or chocolate...)
