RE: Lincoln Forum Symposium and Washington
Angela, thank you for such a wonderful post and pictures. I have been told that Ed Steers was presented with the Richard Nelson Current Award for scholarship in the Lincoln field - kudos to Ed! Angela, I have seen the 2016 David Wiegers’ calendar and love it, too. Also, thanks for mentioning the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop. I spent hours and hours there in the 1970's and 1980's, much of it when it was at the original Chestnut Street address (in Chicago). Now it's on Chicago Ave. Possibly the gentleman you met was Dan Weinberg. The shop itself carries much more memorabilia than just Lincolniana; it's almost like a museum.
Here are just a few of the books I have now that I know I purchased there many, many years ago: The Lincoln Reader edited by Paul M. Angle Lincoln the Unknown by Dale Carnegie, Lincoln's Lost Speech by Elwell Crissey Robert Todd Lincoln: A Man in his Own Right by John S. Goff Abraham Lincoln: His Life, Work, and Character edited by Edward Wagenknecht The Day Lincoln Was Shot by Jim Bishop The Lincoln Murder Conspiracies by William Hanchett Kennedy and Lincoln: Medical and Ballistic Comparisons of Their Assassinations by Dr. John K. Lattimer The Web of Conspiracy by Theodore Roscoe Twenty Days by Dorothy Meserve Kunhardt and Philip B. Kunhardt, Jr and one I bet no one else has: Lewis Payne, Pawn of John Wilkes Booth by Leon O.
