RE: Springfield Tour
The good folks at the Friends of the Forum have found this handy, dandy web site to help you travel to Springfield from your home.
Just type in your home address, and press "get directions" and "voila", you have your very own, personal direction guide, customized for you. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?2c=springfield&2s=il We can't make it much easier than that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And a special thanks for Rick Brown for his thread of "History of the Lincoln Neighborhood " . http://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussio...l#pid51288 That article and photo's will add to our perspective and appreciation of history as we walk down the street and compare the changes made to the neighborhood where Lincoln's house stands. Later we can try to squeeze in a trip to the Cozy Dog Drive-In. I think Lincoln took his boys here a few times. http://www.enjoyillinois.com/thingstodo/details/30754 (Just don't let Tad get his hands on that mustard bottle) Plan on joining us this October 2 & 3 for a unique experience. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
