Civil War Photos - Then and Now

This posting answered a question that has plagued me for four years, and I have just been too lazy to search for the answer. The photo at Sudley Springs Ford in Virginia shows children watching as Union troops started across the water. We used that photo on the cover of our 2013 Calendar of Events (put together in 2012) at Surratt House because we were focusing our programming that year on the Civil War on the Home Front, and it seemed most appropriate to show that the war touched children as well as adults.

Frankly, it became my favorite photo. Now I know the history behind it. Thank you so much, Bill.
