RE: Springfield Tour
One of the things I'm looking forward to on this visit that I've mentioned is the Lincoln Museum in Lincoln IL. But that's not all. If you like Americana art, there are at least 4, four, Lincoln Murals (and several others around town - the Fallstaff Beer mural- among others) and a couple of Lincoln statues in this town that we are going to try and visit.
Then there's the Rail Splitter Covered Wagon, the phone booth on top of city hall, the city of Lincoln Christening Site, the big ball of twine, and The Rustic Inn - where a gang of counterfeiters met in 1876 to plan stealing Lincoln's body. I've never seen any of these, so I'm excited! And that's just the first day. But best of all, it's spending time with friends who share a love of history and of Abraham Lincoln. It's this October 2 & 3 (Friday & Saturday) To find out more read a few of the previous posts, and/or just send me a private message. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
