Following Abraham Lincoln
Written by Bernhardt Wall, a talented engraver. I purchased this based on some comments Roger made about two years ago. Mr. Wall spent 11 years following the footsteps of Lincoln. making etchings of famous Lincoln landmarks all over the country. The book has over 250 illustrations. While it may not be a must have book in your Lincoln library, it's a very nice book to have.

Three interesting points in the book. On page 48, he mentions when Abraham's sister dies, she is buried next to her mother. Her grave marker is next to her husband's grave, at the burial ground at the church they all attended, about two miles from her mother's burial site. The second item is on page 163, "At one time Lincoln borrowed one hundred dollars from Douglas for which he gave his note, and it was paid." Third, an interesting picture of Seward's home in Washington on page 310.

Unfortunately no end notes, footnotes or bibliography.
Published in 1943, with 415 pages

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?
