Many thanks to Angela for sending the information/photos in this post. She has been traveling throughout Illinois seeing all the historic sites and has now reached Springfield for the upcoming commemoration there.

Angela writes, "Here is a first impression...many houses and businesses are draped in black or have their flags at half staff."
