Another book came into Surratt House just in time for the conference. This is the first full biography of Boston Corbett that I know of -- although I know of some great research on him and the Garrett Farm Patrol that has been done by others over the years.

Mr. Corbett is a fascinating personality and another mystery in the assassination story. I wish someone could prove what happened to him after Kansas. I'm leaning towards the Hinckley fire, myself, but doubt it will ever be proven.

BTW: There's a great book (that I can't remember the title of) devoted strictly to the story of that fire. I vowed never to even light a match after reading that one!
