RE: Funeral Train books
Susan, I would agree with Roger. I have both books.
Reed's book is gorgeous from a production standpoint. Excellent color and black&white illustrations with a wonderful look and feel. High quality paper and print quality. It is a well bound hardcover. Trostel's book is an older, oversized paperback format. One of the ones with the glue binding. It is entirely black&white with a more basic printing style. But as far as information goes, Trostel's is the gold standard. In preparing a talk about Lincoln's funeral journey, Trostel's was the book I went back to again and again. |
