Assigning attorneys to each of the 300+ of the accused would perhaps have not been feasible but yes I absolutely agree with you that they should have had at the very least one attorney to look out for their interests and defend them. Was this at least considered? Did their status as non-citizens prohibit it?

Very tragic situation.
