Studebaker museum lending Lincoln carriage to Smithsonian

Interesting history. RTL sold it to a doctor who used it for years in his practice. Wonder if the doctor ever gave any thought that the carriage might be of significant historical value- if not then- maybe in the future? This reminds me of the JFK car that was kept in service of subsequent presidents for several years following the assassination.
