I loved him in the comedy Cat Ballou! That was one movie I could convince my father to go see (he only liked comedies like the ones of yore with Martin & Lewis, Ma&Pa Kettle, Francis, The Talking Mule). H howled with laughter all the way through. The mental picture of drunken Marvin on his horse leaning against that building will stick with me always.

Hilarious. Thanks for the flashback. It brought back memories of my having a crush on Michael Callan (but I can't remember now what else he played in) and it was nice to see Dwayne Hickman again (Doby Gillis?)

It also reminds me of the good old days when one got enjoyment out of a movie without having to think what it meant or figure out your own ending... Or come out of the theater with a headache from all the noise.
