RE: Lincoln's Youth
This just in from Joe Di Cola

I also agree about the Lincoln boyhood books. The Van Natter book can be downloaded and saved from the web since it is very expensive both on Alibris and Amazon. There is another book I can recommend about the Indiana years. It is by Bess Ehrmann and is entitled "The Missing Chapter in the Life of Abraham Lincoln". It has some excellent photos and line drawings, too. I got my copy from the Spencer County Historical Society (Rockport, IN) for $20 plus $5 for shipping

All the best, Joe

Here is the web site for the Spencer Historical Society. Please don't buy them all until I get my copy. (and it's a lot less expensive than Amazon)

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?
