Trip to Gettysburg for the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address

What an absolutely wonderful post, Angela! And thank you for making me feel even prouder to be an American. We tend to forget that there are 90% of our citizens who are still warm and caring; the 10% who are not get most of the publicity nowadays.

I'm on the board of advisers for The Lincoln Forum and used to attend every year's conference. Leg issues now prevent that, but I do miss seeing so many of the 300+ Lincoln enthusiasts that gather in Gettysburg each year -- and I miss freezing to death at the cemetery ceremonies!
