There is an interesting chapter about Lincoln's genealogy (and that's about all I could handle) in Ed Steer's - Lincoln Legends...
If I remember correctly, it seems Nancy Hanks had an aunt(?) named Nancy who had at least one child out of wedlock which contributed to the confusion. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
