Thanks for the link, Roger! That was quite an excellent column.

I agree with one of the commenters, though, that, despite what the writer said, all schoolchildren do *not* know the terrible history of the treatment of Native Americans by the U.S. I doubt that any do. However, this is not because of the state of education "today." It's always been like that. Teaching anything critical of America to kids in school has always been taboo.
