Donna: I figured there was. I'm pleased but not surprised that you own some of Mary's hair. Does it require any special treatment or packaging to preserve it?

The person who owned it prior to me (the founder of the Association of Lincoln Presenters) placed it in a late 19th century locket. It is not made of any type of precious metal. I suppose it could be said it is a piece of 19th century costume jewelry. I have it in a fireproof safe. I've never thought about any special care other than keeping it away from air and dust. Perhaps I should investigate that a little more.
