Surratt Society member Joanne Scacifero of Florida has written a play entitled "Somebody's Darling" which is going to be performed as a reading one night only on Tuesday August 14 at 7:30pm at the Players Theatre, 838 N. Tamiami Trail, in Sarasota Florida. Phone 941-365-2494. Tickets are $8. Their website is www.theplayers.org. It is one of six finalists in a competition, and if it wins, will be mounted as a full production in 2013.

The play is described as follows:

"While the country mourns, and amid an atmosphere of fear and suspicion, three women who loved the assassin John Wilkes Booth, struggle through their own private grief and torment because of his deed."
