RE: The Plot to Kill John Wilkes Booth
I "read" part of the book on Amazon.com but the details of Apr 14 are not in the Amazon excerpt. It seems appropriate it was published by an outfit called Martian Press. I saw the author admitted he had no documentation to support his thesis.

So I suppose Booth arrived at the box all by himself to kidnap Lincoln only to find that Rathbone had already shot him-a feat unnoticed by anyone. If true Booth could have attempted to subdue the assassin and been regarded as the hero of the hour but chose to jump out the box,run off the stage, gallop away on his horse thru the countryside, atypical acts of an innocent man.

This is the first time Stanton has been accused of complicity in the kidnapping plot. Stanton of all people helping the Confederacy? It is just as likely that Stanton hired Booth to give him acting lessons and pointers on how to pick up girls.

The author's name is C Fenway Braxton. You can't make this up.
