The Bixby Letter

I recommend that anyone interested in the authorship of the Bixby letter read Joe Nickell's excellent "style" analysis of the letter (comparing it to other Lincoln writings). Burlingame overlooked Joe Nickell's fine article in his various writings. Nickell is an excellent historian who studied the stylistic nature of Lincoln as carefully as anyone I know. He concludes that Lincoln was clearly the author of the letter. I list the article below. I have posted it and every other article in full on the Bixby letter on an old Lincoln Herald site.
