RE: Carl Sandburg and Lincoln
Bill,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm hoping to be able to get my book done in either late 2013 or early 2014. It will depend on how easy it is to find a publisher and how easy it is for me to complete the research necessary. One thing I want to make clear is that my book does not seek to absolve Sandburg from his shortcomings, but rather to study them as well as his successes and the areas in which he influenced Lincoln studies. There can be no question that Sandburg was the best known and most successful of all Lincoln biographers, and all I hope to do with my work is to answer a simple question...why? Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg
