RE: Abraham Lincoln sightings
OK, OK, I'll tell one more story, one of my favotite Groucho stories.
What makes this one so funny is that it was in one of the many books he wrote. I wish I could tell/write it the way he did, but here goes: Groucho and his wife lived next door to a couple, and they were all very friendly. Unfortunatly the neighbor's husband passed away suddenly. The widow grieved for several months, then decided to get on with her life. One of the first things she did was throw a party and invite all her friends and neighbors. Groucho was at the party, and he noticed the lady's husband was cremated, and she had his ashes in an urn sitting on the mantlepiece. As the party went on, People were smoking cigarettes and tipping their ashes into the urn, not knowing it contained her husband's ashes. Marx watched this going on for a while, then walked up to the lady, pointed at the urn, and said, "So I see your husband put on some weight.' |
