OUCH!!! My first beating from the Surrattsville She Rebel!! And she called me a Carpetbagger!! I'd bet you're going to sleep like a baby tonight after leaving those red marks on my Yankee hide. That is indeed the correct answer!
I thought this one was a slam dunk (I usually think that, however). William "Buck" Best was one of the children who was let out of school to meet Lincoln when he traveled to Charleston to meet with his step-mother before heading to Washington to assume the Presidency. Buck lived until 1947 and supposedly never tired of telling the tale of the time he met Lincoln. Congratulations, Miss Laurie!
