RE: Extra Credit Questions
Kudos Roger. According to my source it was a china candlestick that was held by Tad while his father read his speech. https://books.google.com/books?id=pZ4TAA...cs&f=false

I also did read that Lincoln started out holding the candle and nudged Brooks to take it because he was having trouble managing while reading the speech. So if Tad wasn't holding it I guess Mrs. Keckley had a candlestick held by Lincoln during his last public speech.

You win a candlestick with candle to be held by Vicki when you give your next speech.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Thank you, Anita, but I hate public speaking. However, I do give lectures to Addison, our cat, when she scratches the furniture. Hope that counts as a speech!

It depends, do you speak Cat?

RE: Extra Credit Questions
As you may know, Abraham Lincoln was interested in all scientific disciplines. What was on his bucket list to one day be proven by him to be "lop-sided"?

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Excellent guess, Anita, but, I'm sorry, not correct.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Hint #1: The scientific discipline in this case would be biology rather than medicine.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
I have no clue whatsoever. Abraham Lincoln loved cats, and sometimes our cat tilts her head to one side. So I will say cats?

RE: Extra Credit Questions
A very good guess, Roger, but he wasn't referring to cats.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Was he referring to his ears? I've never noticed them, but that pops to mind.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Brilliant idea, Laurie, but not what he intended to prove being lop-sided either.

Hint #2: He certainly also observed this feature at his own home.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Hint #3: Roger's guess has so far been the closest as Lincoln indeed intended to examine an animal whom he thought to be higher on one side than on the other.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course. And here is an answer that you'll endorse.
