RE: Where Is It?
Hint #1: There's something special about the room.

RE: Where Is It?
Another good idea, but not in Belgium either.

Hint #2: This is somewhere in the US.

Hint #3: Please think of more yes/no questions to approach the solution !

RE: Where Is It?
Is the purpose of the meeting to honor someone?

RE: Where Is It?
This was the only photo I could find online showing the one special feature of the room. The reception is so to speak coincidentally in the photo (i. e. the very occasion of no importance to find out the place), but it hints at the kind of place.

Hint #4: Speaking of honoring, the room is named for (after?) one of the protagonists discussed on this forum.

RE: Where Is It?
Addition to hint #4: ...one of the main protagonists...

Hint #5: Try to approach the place by state.

Hint #6: As for the kind of place, please think about the gentlemen's profession.

Hint #7: What in the room could it be?

RE: Where Is It?
I don't have the faintest idea where this is, but the rifle over the mantel seems to be the one distinct feature of the room as well as the participants being military.

If the rifle is the clue, I am going to guess that it is a Kentucky longrifle. That could place this scene in Pennsylvania, where the rifle was manufactured in the 18th century, or in Kentucky where it got its name, OR, do we want to really stretch and say that the rifle was what Thomas Lincoln used to kill the Indian?

RE: Where Is It?
Kudos, Laurie - you are very near the solution and a winner in any case. Military is correct as for where exactly this is. Kentucky is correct. Thomas Lincoln is correct. The rifle is not the "featured item" linked to him.

Now what is the item, and where in KY is the room?

RE: Where Is It?
The fireplace mantel was made by Thomas Lincoln. It's in the Fort Knox Leader's Club.

The "who" should be easy, so - where is he?

Did y'all notice that the Yankee and the Rebel worked together to solve this one?

Is the statue of George as he appeared while serving as President in Philadelphia, but the statue now stands in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol?

RE: Where Is It?
In 1789 he was inaugurated in New York, so maybe it's there?
