Who is the person?

Mrs. Bixby ?

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

RE: Who is this person?
Wonderful, Gene. That's the correct person. Yes, Mrs. Bixby seemed to move around a lot. I found all these streets on pp. 44-45 of F. Lauriston Bullard's book on the Bixby letter.

I thought Eva's prize for Steve, a historic steamboat trip on the Ocklawaha River, was really cool. You win this trip also if you are ever in Florida.

RE: Who is this person?
With all those address changes it's a wonder she ever got the letter.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

If there weren't the lacking hairdo the gentleman would remind me of Stephen T. Logan.

Good guess, Eva, but it's not Logan.

Hint #2: Lincoln knew the man from his New Salem days.

RE: Who is this person?
I had supposed that - looked like someone to find in Lorant's "Lincoln" but nope. Yet - although no resemblance I try Mentor Graham?

Laurie, as far as I know, this man never entered politics. Eva, that is another good guess, but it's not Mentor Graham.
