Book on Abraham Lincoln
Is anyone familiar with this author? I got it as a free ebook on Kindle!
Title of book- How John Wilkes Booth Assassinated Abraham Lincoln by Nick Vulich I tried to post pic of book but when I choose file for photo it disappeared. I’m ashamed to ask for help but could some kind soul help me. I’m 12 hours above a Masters degree but sometimes I don’t have the sense God gave a billy goat. Ok I just tried to post it and said attachment too big! Danny West |

RE: Book on Abraham Lincoln
Here it is, Danny. The writers of the forum software put a limit on the size of photos that can be uploaded as an attachment to a post. Many folks have run into the same problem as you. I do not think I have ever heard of this particular book.

RE: Book on Abraham Lincoln
Just rec'd word of a new book due out in September from the University of Virginia Press. It is authored by historian William W. Freehling, and the title is simply Becoming Lincoln. It is advertised as focusing on his fifty-one pre-war years and the experiences that led up to Lincoln becoming a powerful war-time leader. "Extensively illustrated" according to the notice. 376 pages.

Surratt House rec'd notice of its publication, but it looks like the author just took the research and writing of respected, modern authors and decided to put them all together in his basic writing version. If you have the books of Swanson, Steers, Kauffman, Alford, and others, it does not appear to me that you need this one. |
