A Conspirator's Christmas
To get a bit back on track....
We DO know how Lew Powell spent Christmas Eve in 1864. According to a newspaper report dated 1902, while serving with Mosby, Powell captured a Union soldier in snowy Warrenton, VA. "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |

RE: A Conspirator's Christmas
Fascinating, where did you find the flyer and what is it from?
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: A Conspirator's Christmas
I made the graphics up to "illustrate" the story. It is a public domain story which was printed in various newspapers in 1902 - apparently true. This was one of the Union soldiers whom Powell captured in 1864, the story of which was recounted during the conspiracy trial by Mr. and Mrs. Grant of Warrenton.
