Thanks for posting this, I have never seen his photo.
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Is that the persimmon tree near the Soldiers Home where President Lincoln convinced Charles Forbes to eat some of the green fruit, and Forbes spit it out and exclaimed, "Mr. President, I am poisoned! I am poisoned!"

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
I love that story! Excellent guess, Roger, but, sorry, not correct either!
Hint #1: Roger's guess is inasfar correct as this is some kind of original, historic tree. |

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
I think that's a Sycamore tree in Gettysburg that was a silent witness to what transpired there in 1863.

Kudos, Joe - you nailed it, it's one of only five trees left of those days. Here's the entire photo:

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Danke, Frau Eva! And Frohliche Weihnachten to you, my dear!!
Although I'm a bit late in coming to the Advent Trivia fun this year, I did peruse the thread and I see that a frequent contributor to this forum has an impressive record of winning three out of the first six questions! Very admirable, but if I have my way - short lived. Without naming names, and to make the Advent Trivia fun even more fun, (for me, anyway), with your permission, I'd like to keep score and stomp a mudhole in your current frontrunner to be this year's Advent Trivia Champion! It is Teddy Roosevelt looking out the window watching the Lincoln funeral procession at his grandpa's house in NYC.
