Made by Thomas Edison in 1915, The Life Of Abraham Lincoln stars Frank McGlynn in his timeless role for the first time! I hope you enjoy! Assassination at 13:57 mark Thomas Kearney, Professional Photobomber. |

RE: Found this old Lincoln silent film
That was good find Thomas.
I enjoyed the scene of Lincoln pushing the baby carriage. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

Thank you Thomas!! I loved it. I think Frank McGlynn made a credible Lincoln. You made me realize how rich the offerings are on
youtube and that I really need to explore the site. |

RE: Found this old Lincoln silent film
I wonder if this was the kind of baby carriage/wagon they had (of which one of the kids allegedly fell out unnoticed by him).

She described it this way: "My first recollection is that he seemed very tall. I can see him now, walking slowly past the house pushing a baby carriage with one hand, while in the other he held an open book which he was reading studiously! He was a grotesque figure, wearing a long linen duster and a tall hat, ridiculously tall." |

RE: Found this old Lincoln silent film
Mrs. Johnson would likely faint dead away if she saw the height of many people today. I once read a story about a Union soldier who was 6'6" and was captured by the Confederates. Supposedly, instead of shipping him off to a prison camp, they paraded him through Southern cities as proof that the Yankees were huge beasts who would come South to eat the women and children. What better proof than to have one on display.

RE: Found this old Lincoln silent film
So I guess Maasai were not enslaved - I think there are quite some other extraordinary tall tribes in Africa.
