On Display...
For a limited time only (March 4-7), the Library of Congress will commemorate the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address by displaying both the manuscript and reading copies of this iconic document in the Great Hall of the Thomas Jefferson Building.
These documents are rarely displayed together, making this a potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to view this grouping. More information can be found in the press release issued this morning: http://www.loc.gov/today/pr/2015/15-021....clr=rssloc |

Wow! Wish it would be possible for me to get there during that very short time frame. But, I guess it is not to be. |

Thanks for the info. I'll be down in DC on the 7th at the 2nd Inaugural event and plan to visit this exhibit.

RE: On Display...
This reminded me of something. The speech that Lincoln gave from the East Portico-where he talked about giving African-Americans voting rights. Where is that speech? Was it saved?

Hi Bill. I think this is the speech you are referring to.
