RE: Test
The host server is still not displaying all the pages normally, but some things seem a little better today. I find that if I refresh the browser I am often then getting current, not cached, pages. This is an improvement over yesterday. Overall performance is still erratic, however.
To repeat, at least for me, if I hit the refresh page on the browser for each forum page I visit, things are operating normally. This is a change from the past, but it's better than the service we've been receiving this past week. Some folks have written wondering if I am thinking of changing hosts. I would only do this as a last resort as the financial deal I have with the current host is very good. We'll see how things go over the next week or so. |

RE: Test
As I write this (5:30 A.M.) the forum is still not operating properly unless one clicks on the refresh button on your browser for each page visited. Otherwise an outdated page is displayed. This seems to be the same whether you are using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Sarari, etc. Unfortunately the host company is doing this to cut down on high CPU usage on their server. I will be talking to them again next week, but for now, the forum will operate OK if one keeps clicking on the refresh button every time a new page is visited. This should make the current page appear on your screen.

RE: Test
I logged out over four hours ago, but I'm still online. I feel OK, but do I need to seek emergency technical assistance?
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Test
Gene, if you refresh yourself you will be OK and current and not in need of emergency treatment.

RE: Test
Yes, that will also do it. I tried doing that in 4 browsers, and it is a another way of seeing "current," not "old" pages. Thanks, Gene - good suggestion! Much appreciated.

RE: Test
Thanks, Gene. I deleted my cache for the last four weeks and I could finally log out. However, when I logged on today, I had to click on a link to see that I am logged in. Refreshing the main page also works.

RE: Test
A forum member wrote and asked how they could tell if they were seeing a current or a cached page on the forum. Please look up in the top part of the page for the time information. Example:
Current time: 11-04-2014, 05:55 AM If the time is correct you are looking at a current page. If the time is outdated any of the methods described above should bring up the current page. |
