This series could be very enlightening for as the ad states Concord was "A hotbed of antislavery sentiment and activity." The town was filled with rabid abolitionists who were divided on the use of force to end slavery or to continue through negotiation. In a sense, Concord led to Harpers Ferry.

MUCH thanks Roger, sounds interesting!

In one of my Lincoln books-cannot remember which one-I read that Concord and other parts of New England prevailed upon Edwin Stanton to have Lincoln's funeral train pass through their area so that they could pay their respects, but Stanton advised them that the schedule couldn't be altered.
