Booth's Boots
How many pair of JWB's boots were mentioned at the trial of the conspirators?

RE: Booth's Boots
As far as I know there was the boot that JWB had on one foot and the mate to it at Mudd's as well as the pair that Lew Powell had on (which were supposedly JWB's) I've always doubted that however. Powell claimed that he bought those boots in Baltimore in January of 1865.

RE: Booth's Boots
Well, that was easy. You are correct Betty. Colonel H.H. Wells said the boots taken from Powell had an ink mark on the inside that read J.W. B__th. They currently are not on display behind the sheetrock of Eckerts home along with Powell's jacket, hat and Booth's stickpin.
