Owen Browns Marker Found
I am very excited today. Having been fascinated with John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry I documented the final resting places of almost all involved including Brown's Raiders, civilians and soldiers and marines that stormed the "fort." One grave that eluded me was that of Owen Brown who escaped Harpers Ferry and eventually moved to Pasedena, CA where he died and was buried atop Brown's Mountain near the little cabin that he lived in. About 10 years ago someone stole the marker and then citing private property. refused to let anyone place another marker. Today the marker was found a few hundred feet from where it was stolen, thrown down the side of the mountain.

RE: Owen Browns Marker Found
Is Brown's Mountain so named because of John Brown?
