Interesting FREE Booklet on CW Washington DC
The Symbol and the Sword - Washington DC 1860-1865 is an interesting little booklet FREE from Internet Archieve.
It was published in the early 1960s for the District of Columbia Civil War Centennial Commission and contains some rather rare photos some of which I had never seen before. Great link, Betty! Thanks for posting. Lots of interesting information. Example: I did not know that Julia Ward Howe wrote "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" in the Willard Hotel.

RE: Interesting FREE Booklet on CW Washington DC
Betty, you find some of the most interesting things. You must be lots of fun to go with to an antique or old bookstore.
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
