Fall of the House of Dixie
Bruce Levine, who is the J.G. Randall Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Illinois, has published a new book called The Fall of the House of Dixie.

Here is an interview with Levine that he gave to NPR. It looks well worth it.

Agreed Rob. Did I really say that? I received it for my birthday. Ready for this? RE Lee on 19 January, me on 20, and Stonewall Jackson on 21. Now you understand everything, right?

That's very interesting Bill. In the words of Rob Wick and Louis Weichmann, "It all makes sense now" Idea

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Dear Wild Bill
Belated birthday wishes

Seeing yr birthday is "sandwiched" between the birthdays of Lee and Jackson, yr book title "The Last Confederate Heroes"-I loved the book-has a culinary meaning hitherto unknown.
