Thanks for sharing this, Gene. I hope Angela gets to read it. She flew from her home in Germany to Gettysburg for the annual Lincoln Forum Symposium. She may not be back home yet.

When I was in Middle School, we played with this toy called Mighty Beanz. It was a magnetic ball inside a decorated bean shaped capsule. While most students had theres put in the "June Box" I kept mine in my locker and brought them out during lunch. I would do all sorts of tricks with mine. There were Marvel, Star Wars The Simpsons, Pokemon, TMNT, and Cars Beanz but they also made historical figures such as Napolean, Elvis and Julius Caesar and random ones. But the one bean I cherished was of Lincoln. I brought it to school only once, showed it to one girl I had a crush on (and eventually dated for a few months), talked about the assassination while I did one trick with it. Other than that, I kept it locked away, because I would be heartbroken if I lost that one rare Lincoln Treasure. Today I was cleaning my room and I found the pencil case containing my Mighty Beanz, and wanted to share this special rarity of 16:

I know what you're thinking. Mighty What? That's what Mike Kauffman thought when I was showing him my Lincolniana at Fords 150. Here is a link describing the Fidget Spinners of my Middle School days:

That's neat Thomas. do they do anything? What kind of tricks?
Are they like Weebles?
"Weebels wobble, but they don't fall down"

Yeah, but for older kids. I had Weebles when I was a toddler and when I got my first pack of Mighty Beanz, my parents pulled out the baby pictures. They turn up and down and one of my most famous trick was launching my Napolean bean from my hand. One time during finals, my friend brought in a race track and the teacher let us race our beanz.

This was my go to accessory:

When Weebles re launched in 8th Grade, I called them "Baby Mighty Beanz", and once again, out came the photo album.

Thank god these weren't around when my daughter was a child. I would have been finding them all over the house, tucked under cushions, in closets, etc. to this day!

I own one too. Bought a few tears ago on Ebay. Nice post!

For the Lincoln Collector who has a certain "air" about them.

Thanks for the alert, Gene! I'll ask Vicki if this might help with litter box odors.

I'm afraid I don't get it - what does this have to do with Abraham Lincoln respectively v.v.?
(I wonder when Abraham Lincoln point shoes or leotard will be available, I might like to check out...)
PS: Amazon says the item would not be shipped to Germany. Mist...(Rogerm will understand...)

Absolutely nothing, other than Lincoln's name, and image are on the label of the item they are trying to sell. Since it is not a product that we might associate with Lincoln, the fact that his name and image are used, it is a bit unusual. For some people, that is enough to make it a Lincoln collectable.

Amazon is advertising a t-shirt showing Lincoln riding a T-Rex. They are justifying the theme by saying that the greatest President is riding the greatest dinosaur. While Lincoln items are very collectible, aren't we getting a little to "weird?"

As I said, I'd go for Abraham Lincoln bALlet fashion. I mean there are his initials in it, wouldn't that enough to legitimise?

In this day and age of "marketing madness," anything works!

Is there no protection for a person's name? 0r can you abuse a name as you like it and profit therefrom?

Some celebrities are fighting back with lawsuits, but that does not protect the dignity of those who are deceased. As long as the maddening crowds continue to pay money for indignities to others, the "entrepreneurs" will continue to feed them what they want.
