BobbleHeads - Laurie Verge - 04-18-2013 03:12 PM

You will definitely want to order one for your collection. Surratt House received a promo from a BobbleHead company. They are offering 6-foot tall bobbles of any famous figure you want. Lincoln? Booth? All of the conspirators? The going price for a 6-footer is just $5,995.

Wouldn't you like matching Lincolns for either side of your doorway? Wouldn't Mary Surratt look cool standing on the front porch of Surratt House nodding as all the visitors went past? I'm sure that Betty needs one of Lewie...

You can even do figures as high as 10 feet! Boggles (or is that Bobbles) your mind doesn't it? I'm one of those who did not have a heart attack when the Booth Bobbles appeared, but even I find this a little weird.

A 6' 2" Lew Bobblehead would HAVE to look better than the "Feed Me Please/Give Me a Hug! Lew Doll" that they have at McNair! I hate to say it, but he's just right down creepy!!

Has anyone on the Forum gotten the William H. Seward bobblehead? Ever since we heard that there had been one made, I've been trying to find one for sale. You think by now there would have been offerings on EBay.

I agree, Bill. It was just about 4 years ago when 1,000 of these were given away at a ball game.

Does that say "Bass Pro Shop" at the base?
Seems to be an unusual item to give away at a ball game.

Gene, yes.

"Bass Pro Shops in Auburn is fielding the tab for the bobblehead promotion, and store spokeswoman Lindsey Tidd said Seward made for a great choice.

“He’s done so much for New York state and for this country why wouldn’t we pick him,’’ said Tidd, the store’s special events coordinator."

Well, I guess we will just have to keep looking. With only 1000 made- they aren't going to be common at all.
