The poster looks in excellent condition, almost too good.

For that kind of money, I want a nicer frame.

In the old days, Dr. Lattimer, Malcolm Forbes, and Louise Taper might have raced each other to the bank to get the funds. It will interesting to see who bids and what it goes for.

Is the hat that the ALPM bought from Mrs. Taper the same one from the Forbes collection? I think it was and I've heard the provenance is dubious.

I really don't know. Of those three collectors, Louise is/was (only she survives) the best at carefully authenticating things before purchasing them. I have only seen pictures of some of her pieces, but they are outstanding. What's great is that she is also a very nice lady.

Is the poster actually the first generation edition-or a subsequent version, I wonder?

i'm pretty sure it's one of the first. if I'm not mistaken, they were rushed out without the photos first. Somewhere I saw an earlier one discovered by Mr. Kauffman I believe.

That poster has been confirmed to be one of the first. If you watch the History show Pawn Stars, it's featured in one of the episodes, along with a fake one.
