Oh gosh Roger...it bears an uncanny resemblance to the legendary Lincoln home at 8th and Jackson in Springfield, Il...even though I realize it isn't!

Toia, that's what I thought when I posted this!

Hint #1: Besides being a President he was also a Vice-President.

Chester Arthur?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 08-24-2014 12:51 PM

Good guess, Toia, but it's not him.

Harry Truman or Millard Filmore?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - RJNorton - 08-24-2014 01:45 PM

Excellent, Paige! It is the Millard Fillmore house in Buffalo, NY. The home is no longer standing. Paige, you win very best wishes for a nice Sunday!

Word has it that on president's favorite food reads as follows: beef jerky, nachos, tacos, guacamole, chile, refried beans, hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecued ribs, candy, popcorn, ice cream and cake. Whose?

That sounds like a universal list of everyone's favorite foods.

But I'll say Ronald Reagan

I've never in my life tried beef jerky, nachos, tacos, guacamole, chile, hamburgers, or hot dogs, but I would agree on smashed beans and chocolate.

Very good guess, Tom, but it's not RR's list.

George Bush?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia - Eva Elisabeth - 08-27-2014 09:51 AM

Which one?

George H Bush

Kudos, Gene! It was actually your second-to--last post here:

...that made me think of this:
Q. Mr. President, have you lost the broccoli vote?
Q. What about it, since you brought it up?
Q. Yes, can you give us a broccoli statement?

The President. Now, look, this is the last statement I'm going to have on broccoli. [Laughter] There are truckloads of broccoli at this very minute descending on Washington. My family is divided. [Laughter] I do not like broccoli. [Laughter] And I haven't liked it since I was a little kid, and my mother made me eat it. And I'm President of the United States, and I'm not going to eat any more broccoli. [Laughter]

Wait a minute. For the broccoli vote out there, Barbara loves broccoli. [Laughter] She's tried to make me eat it. She eats it all the time herself. So, she can go out and meet the caravan of broccoli that's coming in from Washington. [Laughter]

Q. Cauliflower?
Q. Lima beans?
Q. Brussels sprouts?

[At this point, the President made a thumbs-down gesture.]

Q. Ah-ha, thumbs down on brussels sprouts.

See the President's News Conference, March 22, 1990:

The list BTW reads on: "Even something healthy, like yogurt or oat bran, he would have spiced up with Butterfingers."

That was George H's finest moment as president...standing up to the broccoli tyrants! They even tried to force the issue by driving a truckload of it right up to the WH gates. But he refused to meet with them and sent the First Lady out instead. I don't blame him...I hate broccoli too!

Fight the power!! Tongue
