Sidney Blumenthal, a political advisor to the Clintons, is a member of the Surratt Society and is writing a book that deals in part with Lincoln's politics. He just sent me this link to an article that he has just had printed:

Laurie, Mr. Blumenthal's article is super-interesting, though even lengthier than your epic oyster post. At least his article doesn't make me hungry!

Jim,

You are so cute and so funny! Sidney and I get along fine because we both don't know when to stop putting words on paper.

Speaking of "Lincoln the Politician" reminded me of the quote by Groucho Marx on politics (which is not intended by me to reflect on Lincoln):

"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies."

Boy, i miss Mr. Marx.
