Clara Harris"She Sat Beside Lincoln the Night He Died. Her Husband Killed Her for It." - Linda Anderson - 08-11-2026 Even though I knew most of Clara Harris's story, I found this retelling heartbreaking. The comments are interesting to read. Joe Barry might be interested to learn that one person wrote, 'My 3rd great uncle was there that night. He was on injured reserve, having recently been in the hospital, visited by Lincoln. He participate in several searches and guarding of others." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFJuKgRTMw4 Here's the link to the thread on the bloody dress. https://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussionSymposium/thread-1266.html?highlight=bloody+dress RE: Clara Harris"She Sat Beside Lincoln the Night He Died. Her Husband Killed Her for It." - Linda Anderson - 08-11-2026 I remembered that Eva found the Rathbones' "new" burial site in Germany. "Eva Elisabeth Lennartz discoverd that Clara and Henry's remains were not disposed of but buried deeper in the lot so it could be "rented" again, as is the policy of the German Government. They are buried together in lot 30D16." https://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussionSymposium/thread-974.html?highlight=rathbone |
