The Washington Post reports today (to see photograph) (May 23, 2025):
A giant portrait of President Donald Trump has been newly affixed to the facade of the U.S. Department of Agriculture building on the National Mall. The banner, plus another featuring President Abraham Lincoln hanging a few columns away, was installed last week in honor of the department’s 163rd birthday and will be up “for the coming months,” USDA director of communications Seth W. Christensen said in an email.
“USDA has much to remember,” Christensen wrote, pointing to upcoming Memorial Day, Flag Day and Fourth of July celebrations in addition to the department’s birthday. “The banners on the building’s facade observe these moments in American history and acknowledge the vision and leadership of USDA’s founder, Abraham Lincoln, and the best advocate of America’s farmers and ranchers, President Trump.”
Trump had to include President Lincoln or We the People would have just laughed.
