Interesting NYT article on DKG's Apartment - Rob Wick - 04-10-2024 09:38 AM I normally don't appreciate fluff pieces like this, but given that I have a deep admiration for Doris Kearns Goodwin, I found it interesting, and since I am a dyed-in-the-wool bibliophile, I can appreciate her decision to cull her book collection. I am a great admirer of her as well and I have just ordered her new book. A lot happened in the 60s and so much of it has been forgotten. I am looking forward to reading about the memories of her husband's participation in so many important events of that time. I find it so interesting today that much of what we worked so hard to change back then is now on the block to be changed back to where it was before the changes. I think her book is timely and important to remind Americans of the hard work that went into that era. It was a time of revolution that took a lot of brave politicians and Americans to make change happen. I can't wait to read her book! |
