Abraham Lincoln Podcast - GustD45 - 06-08-2023 12:37 AM

Hello Everyone,

After much thought and consultation with my better angel, I want to launch a podcast. Right now I'm doing research on a variety of topics. I've launched a Patreon page as we need funds in order to do this. Feel free to explore and become a patron, go to http://www.patreon.com/exploringlincoln There isn't much I can offer in the way of swag, but as I gather more followers and the podcast takes off I can provide swag.

If anyone has any episode ideas or would like to become a guest feel free to message me privately. Episode ideas can go in the comment section.

Thank you!

I would suggest the thread that I began almost one year ago on June 10, 2022 - President Lincoln's "Blind Memorandum" - as an excellent introduction to your podcast series on President Lincoln.

The subject matter is timely and important as regards the Constitution itself.

Gus,
suggest you take the period mark off the end of the hyperlink in your post above so its just

As for subject matter ... Lincoln's romances always grab attention, but I find his short time as a soldier in the Black Hawk war interesting. Then there's his father. How many of us would have turned out as well adjusted as Lincoln if we'd had a father like his? It seems that his father gave him zero encouragement to learn to read (even hiding his books apparently) and using him as a slave .

Yes, this is quite ambitious. Luckily I have the support of my beautiful wife.

Thank you Mick, both for the advice and the episode ideas.
