Kentucky Tornado - Gene C - 12-12-2021 I have received a couple of emails checking on us, and I am happy to say we are fine, Mayfield, KY is about 20 miles to the south of us. We were up late Friday night watching the weather on TV as they tracked the path, reported the damage, and warned people who were in the path of the tornado. For a while, we didn't know if it was heading toward our town or not. It was every bit as bad as it looks on TV. A few other nearby smaller communities (within 50 miles of us) took direct hits by the same tornado and their downtown areas were also severely damaged. We appreciate your concerns.
RE: Kentucky Tornado - RJNorton - 12-13-2021 Thanks for sharing, Gene. I had no idea you lived only 20 miles from Mayfield. We are all so glad you are OK. I have never seen such awful damage. RE: Kentucky Tornado - AussieMick - 12-13-2021 Glad you're ok , Gene. The photos looked terrible. When I heard I couldnt help but wonder if it was near Lincoln's birthplace.
