For Those Interested in John Brown - Susan Higginbotham - 12-07-2021 11:49 PM

Just thought I'd post to inform you that my new historical novel, John Brown's Women, told from the viewpoint of Brown's wife Mary, his daughter-in-law Wealthy, and his daughter Annie, was published today. It's available on Amazon and elsewhere.

Congratulations. What generated your interest in these people enough to write your new book?

Thanks! I moved from NC to Maryland, very close to Harpers Ferry, a few years back and read Tony Horwitz's Midnight Rising, about the Harpers Ferry raid. That awakened my interest in Brown's daughter Annie, who served as his lookout at the Kennedy Farm in Maryland, which in turn led to me researching other women in the family.
